By: Seth Boyer Feature Writer 2/27/23 Colonel Johnson has decided that he will be retiring this year. Colonel Johnson has been teaching for seven years now. He first started teaching in Great Falls, Montana for two years. Then, he came to Scottsbluff, where he has taught for five years.
Before being a teacher, Colonel Johnson served in the Air Force for 27 years. In the Air Force, he flew in five different types of planes. He served one tour in Alaska. Colonel Johnson was 27 years old when he first joined the Air Force. Colonel Johnson’s favorite part of his teaching job is watching his students develop into young adults. He sees how much responsibility and maturity grows during their time in high school. He loves the relationships he makes with his students. |
Colonel Johnson has five sisters and four brothers. He was the only one to serve in the military.
Colonel Johnson loves to travel, and that is what he plans on doing after his retirement. The students at SHS are going to greatly miss Colonel Johnson and they will remember him through the fantastic JROTC program he has been in charge of for so long. |
