By Dawson Iasillo News Writer 10/12/22 The beginning of October is the start of good things: fall, cooler weather, pretty leaves, pumpkin patches, Halloween, and so much more. But the best part of spooky season? Dressing up pets for Halloween of course!
While it may be a controversial topic, dressing up pets is a fun way to celebrate the Halloween season. Many people spend time picking out the perfect costume for their animal. Many owners do it for the humor or to match the family’s costume scheme. Others do it as a reflection of themself. Whatever the case may be, dressing up pets is silly and not cruel. Costumes for the animals are made specifically for them. Each costume has different sizes for different animals to make sure it fits and is comfortable for the animal. While the pet may pout and not seem to be having much fun with the costume, it does not actually harm the animal in any way. While dressing up animals for Halloween is not cruel, other aspects of the costume can be. Some pet owners take measures too far by applying makeup or face paint to their animal. This can affect the pet’s mental and physical health. According to Paw CBD, paint or makeup can cause stress and anxiety to the pet. The pet’s fur and/or skin can also be burned or inflamed from the paint or makeup. There is no issue with dressing an animal up in a funny hot dog or dinosaur costume. As long as the animal’s costume is strictly a costume, it does not affect the health of the pet. Next time a cute animal is dressed up in a silly costume, there is no need to feel bad for the animal. Costumes do not cause harm to the animal and only bring joy to people! |
